Hormonal Imbalance

One of the biggest complaints I see in my practice is unexplained weight gain.  It’s quite common in women today to see weight creep on without any changes to their diet or workout routine.  This causes confusion, frustration, stress, and negative emotions towards themselves and their body.  And without realizing it, the cycle continues in this way — because it’s not about your diet or workout — it’s about your hormones! 

Hormones are responsible for so many imperative bodily functions ranging from sleep to stress response to sexual function.  There is an intricate balance that needs to take place within the body to maintain homeostasis within this system.

Hormonal imbalance is an extremely common condition for both women and men and will cause symptoms such as weight gain, fatigue, menstrual irregularities, mood changes, and poor sleep. 

Every client I see needs to work on their endocrine system.  I do this by:

  • functional hormone testing to gain more insights into the specific imbalances causing the symptoms
  • creating a diet that supports blood sugar regulation, proper adrenal function, and a balanced thyroid
  • implementing stress management techniques
  • adding supplementation and herbs as necessary to support healing, especially of the adrenals and thyroid
