Are you someone who waits until you “have” a certain thing so that you can finally “do” something important, which will then allow you to “be” who you want to be? For instance, “Once I lose weight, then I will buy new clothes, and feel confident.”
Or, do you have the mindset that the more you “do,” the more you’ll “have,” and the happier you’ll “be”? For example, “The more I work, the more money I’ll make, the more successful I’ll be.”
Both of these, although quite popular approaches, are just setting us up for continued stuckness! In order to create external change, we need to start with our inner selves. Which happens by first BEING who we want to be.
If you’ve been in the self-improvement/personal growth world, you may have heard of the Be-Do-Have model as an approach to life that actually gets you what you want. But, most of us are stuck doing the opposite keeping what we want out of reach.
