Nutrition & Health Services 9 Comments Shannon Keating on July 30, 2015 at 2:17 pm Hi Shawn!! My name is Shannon Keating. I just recently graduated from the University of Denver with an undergrad degree in Biology this past June, and will be staying in the Denver area for (at least) the next year (as I am currently in the process of moving into a new appt!!). I first discovered you a couple months ago when The Nourished Podcast was first launched & since then have been listening to your & Meg’s show religiously every week and have been keeping up with you both on social media, your blogs, etc. (You could say I’m a little bit of a fan 😉 ) My deepest passion lies in the power of a paleo/real food lifestyle, and I resonate with just about everything you discuss on the podcast (from loving an early bedtime to that inevitable $20 Whole Foods salad!). Ultimately I want to become certified holistic nutritionist/practitioner/whatever the title may be, and start coaching others in Nutrition. My overall plan was to work for a year and get some experience in, make some more connections in the area, be able to pay rent, etc. etc. and then from there attend either Bowman College in Boulder or do the NTP program sooo when I heard you mention the NTP program that is going to be starting in Denver this September I was ALL EARS! I’m not sure logistically speaking if the timing of the program would work out for me yet because I will be traveling SE Asia the entire month of August, and don’t quite have the money saved to afford it yet BUT I was wondering if maybe you would be interested in meeting up with me sometime in the near future to talk about the program? I’d love to drive up to Boulder to meet you for tea or lunch or something and get a bit of mentoring from you! Just let me know if this would be something you’d be up for! You can check me out via Instagram (paleotherescue.com) and/or find me on Facebook too to get a better idea on who I am! Reply Elise on August 10, 2015 at 4:45 pm I am a newly diagnosed ulcerative colitis girl! I also have problems with blood sugar yet not diabetic and acne problems too! Looking to get better educated on supplements and what meals to eat Reply Well Belly on August 11, 2015 at 12:59 pm Hi Elise! Welcome to the UC club, although I’m sorry to hear about your diagnosis. It is not fun. The good news is that there are a ton of things you can do to heal yourself and get into remission for life! I’d love to help you and can also help your acne and blood sugar issues as well. Let’s set up a free 15-minute consultation so I can get a little bit more background! Lately, I’ve been having some issues and went to multiply traditional doctors finding no answers and no relief. I went to my chiropractor’s office to get a Nutritional Response Test. They found a parasite among other things and put me on Standard Process supplements. I am excited to finally figure out what’s been plaguing me and start to get some relief. I was wondering in you do Nutritional Response Testing or if you have ever gotten it done? It’s pretty amazing. Reply Maggie on June 29, 2016 at 10:39 pm Hi Shawn! How much is GI testing? What about food sensitivity testing? Thanks! Reply Well Belly on July 9, 2016 at 12:44 pm Hey there! Send me an email and we can chat about prices and cost! email@example.com Reply Erin on July 4, 2017 at 2:47 pm Hi Shawn, I just ordered the testing strips and monitor from Amazon that you suggested. Do you have any recommendations on how and when to start testing? Reply Frances Bushman on July 13, 2017 at 1:11 pm Hi Shawn. I first heard about you on ketotalk a couple of weeks ago. When I heard you tell your story and what inspired you to help people heal themselves with nutrition it resonated with me. I want to do that, too! A little about me: I’m a homeschooling mom of 4. My youngest is 9 months old and in the last 9 months I’ve lost all my baby weight, lowered my a1c and my total cholesterol all while doing keto. For 3 of my pregnancies I had gestational diabetes that I controlled with diet (and glyburide for 2 of those). I also nursed 3 of my babies all while on keto. Needless to say, I know keto works. I know I can help people who want to lose weight and get control of their health doing keto, but I don’t feel like I have enough credibility to put myself out there as a coach. I am interested in the NTP program, but that isn’t something that I can commit to right now. What do you recommend? Where can I start? Thanks for what you’re doing. I think your podcast and your services are much needed in this very noisy confused world of diet and health. Reply Shawn Mynar on July 22, 2017 at 7:40 pm Hi Frances! Just do the NTP program when you can and until then don’t be afraid to share what you know with others!
