7 Questions To Ask Your Intuition

Let’s lay down 7 questions to ask your intuition. I want you to unleash and discover your real path in life, wherever it may take you. Begin asking these questions to bring out your inner true self.

One of the best superpowers we have as humans is the ability to tap into our intuition, to listen to it, and to be guided by it. But there are not enough of us doing that!

What is your intuition?

Your intuition is your inner voice, your inner being, your inner guide, your intuitive sense. There are so many different ways to describe it! But, ultimately, it is your direct link to your higher power. It’s a universal sense inside of you that allows you to communicate with your higher power.

We are always actively communicating with the Universe, and the Universe is always communicating back with us. We can always receive that guidance, support, encouragement, and love when we’re listening to our intuition.

How do you know that you’re listening to your intuition?

Once you find that voice, you will always recognize it. It will be a feeling of calm, centeredness, peace, and ease. Maybe it feels like a knowing. You may be sensing it asking you to take a step outside your comfort zone. It will remind you that you are safe, that you’re okay, and that you’re loved. It will tell you that all is well. Listening to your intuition will put you back into a place of groundedness.

How do you connect with your intuition?

First of all, you have to get the ego voice out of the way. Often, the first voice we hear is the ego voice. And that ego chatter will sometimes drown out communication with your intuition. The ego voice is usually in the form of stress, mean-girl messages, or internal frustration.

The best way to push away the ego and quiet the chatter is to really relax, breath, and focus. This is often most easily accomplished during meditation, or as you are drifting off to sleep. It’s also helpful to journal out the ego chatter – put it down on paper to get it out of your head. And once you’ve gotten it out, you can give it a backseat. Usually what comes out after that is your intuition.

Another way to connect with your intuition is to get out into nature. Take a walk, get some fresh air, and raise your vibration. This will also help to silence the ego chatter and raise the volume of your intuition.

How does your intuition communicate?

Intuition can come to you in the form of a sound, a feeling, a sense of knowing, even a taste! Nothing is off-limits. Be open to receiving in your capacity. Be willing to be patient… it doesn’t always happen right away. There may be a better time for you to get the download you’re looking for. Just remember that it’s coming. Let go of when it needs to come and what it needs to look like. When you can let go and step back, then you will have the ability to relax into listening and wait for it to come. As long as you’re open, it will come.

So what should I ask?

Here are 7 questions to ask your intuition! I highly recommend that you don’t focus solely on yes or no questions. Sometimes it can be hard at first to decipher whether a yes or a no is coming from your ego, or from your intuition. If you can, stay away from those types of questions, with a few exceptions.

1. What do I need to know about this situation?

If there’s something in your life that doesn’t feel all-knowing, ask your intuition what you need to know. There is so much to be uncovered about every situation we’re in. When something feels off, question it.

2. What emotion is fueling me right now?

If you’re not feeling high-vibe, or if there’s something you’re experiencing that doesn’t feel good, you may want to get confirmation of that feeling from your intuition. The surface feeling may not be the true feeling. Sometimes you might feel frustrated, but if you ask your intuition what you’re really feeling, you may find that your foundational emotion is sadness. Dig to find out what’s down deep, don’t just look at what’s happening on the surface.

3. How can I show up as my highest self at this moment?

This is really the ultimate goal of life, right? We want to show up as the highest version of ourselves, but sometimes we don’t even understand what that highest version looks like. There are so many times in life when we are struggling with a situation, and showing up as our highest self would resolve it.

4. What can I do differently here?

If there’s something that feels off, if there’s a decision that needs to be made, if you’re stuck in some capacity, you may want to ask what you could be doing differently. What a great tool to learn more about yourself! Each person has their own individual expression of their health and life. The way to find the right path for your journey is to consult your intuition. This question can really open your eyes to what’s best for you.

5. I’m ready and open for guidance.

This one is obviously more of a statement than a question. But say it, and then wait. Journal it and listen. See what comes up.

6. Do I need to worry about this?

The answer to this question is always the same. I’m not going to tell you what the answer is, though. Just ask the question, and see what answer you get. It’s a good one.

7. Am I okay?

So many of the negative emotions we have are really just the need to know that we are actually okay. Your intuition can be a reminder that you are okay, and it comes with a feeling of security and calm. This allows you to walk in security and move beyond the ego voice. Using our intuition allows us to step back from the chatter that tells us we’re not okay.

The Quickest Way to Shift Your Money Mindset

How’s your relationship with money?

Whether we realize it or not, most of us don’t have the best relationship with money. And this relationship causes us stress, fear, unease, and frustration. It causes us to stay stuck: not pursuing our dreams or living a full life. Why? Because of our money mindset! Which, just like anything else, can be changed. You can shift your money mindset.

Today I want to share my absolute best and simplest tip to quickly reframe your mindset around money so that you can be in alignment: attracting money versus repelling it. When we are out of alignment, we are subconsciously pushing abundance away. And that’s not what we want, is it?

Are you experiencing abundance?

We have talked a lot about abundance. And when we talk about money, we have to address abundance versus scarcity. This is something I struggled with for a long time, and I know that many others have too. Sometimes the unwillingness to shift your money mindset into one of abundance is because of our external environment, or because of ideas that have been passed down from our parents.

Shifting my money mindset was actually more difficult for me than shifting my body image mindset, or even my health mindset. The stories that I was telling myself about those issues were clearly wrong… I knew I was telling myself false stories. But with money, scarcity was so built into everything that I thought and felt that I had no idea that these stories were constantly running in the background.

Are you focused on scarcity?

Everything I’d heard from my parents, my grandparents, or the media were ideas based on scarcity. And even now there is a lingering ickiness surrounding money that I have to consciously pick out and eliminate.

As we’ve discussed, the four pillars of being unstuck can shift so many things. Let me show you how they can shift your money mindset. 

How the Four Pillars can help

So much of what we discuss goes right back to these four pillars. And shifting your money mindset is no different.

Awareness

What stories and beliefs do I have around money, and what do I want when it comes to money? Awareness is at least 70% of mindset work. We have to get curious to understand the stories happening in our heads on a daily basis.

Here are some of the stories I was telling myself about money: 

  • If I had plenty of money, I was somehow selfish or greedy.
  • You have to work long hours in order to have money.
  • You have to be stressed out in order to have money.

I had to begin asking myself what I would feel if I had plenty of money. My answers were: security, freedom, and abundance.

Alignment

This is where you raise your vibration to be a match for what you wish to attract. How can you feel those feelings now? How can you begin to feel security, freedom, and abundance in your life today? When we raise our vibration to feel those things before we even have the thing we’re wanting, we begin to attract them.

Action

Now we need to build on the alignment we’re creating. We need to build habits and create a mindset practice around them. And the quickest way to shift your money mindset is the action step we’ll discuss today.


Acceptance

We are all on this journey together. And the crazy thing is that the joy is in the journey! The goal is to be happy NOW. Realizing that will allow us to have fun along the way, and that alone will actually bring more money to your bank account.

So what’s quickest way to shift your money mindset?

Here is is!

Watch your words around money.

Watch what you say about money. Words are a direct reflection of your beliefs and your thoughts, and sometimes those words are putting up walls, blocking the flow of money to you.

You are constantly either attracting or repelling money. So let’s think about the energy we’re putting out in relationship to money. And the best way to do this is to be mindful of the way we talk about money.

We have to understand that money is simply a form of energy. When we pay for something or when we receive money, it is just an energetic exchange. One form of energy gives you another form of energy. If you can see it more as an exchange, it will be easier to see it in a positive way.

Many of us are trained to have a negative relationship with money, and we put ourselves in a low-vibe place because of how we talk about it. And that, in turn, makes us a bad match for attracting abundance.

Do you ever say these phrases?

  • That’s too expensive
  • I can’t afford that
  • I don’t make enough money to be able to do that
  • I have to find a cheaper option
  • I need to wait for a sale
  • I’ll never be able to make that much money
  • Paying for this is going to put me into debt
  • I’m too poor

These negative expressions put us in a low-vibe place! They are so focused on NOT having money! And that means that you are focusing your attention only on the money you do not have. This negativity disrupts the flow of money back to you.

So what do we do instead?

Instead of asking “can I afford this?” ask yourself “what do I value?”

Does the value of what you’re paying for match up to the energetic exchange you’re making? 

Homework

Notice how you talk about money. See if you can dig deeper to find out where that comes from. Ask yourself what story you’re telling yourself about money.

14 Ways The Universe Communicates With You

We have done quite a bit of work understanding how we connect and communicate with our Higher Power through our beliefs, thoughts, emotions, and actions. Now it’s time to get in tune with all of the communication that the Universe is directing back to us. 

Let’s go through 14 different channels the Universe uses to connect and communicate with us; everything from your own intuitive sense to the music you hear! After hearing about these channels, you will never again view synchronicities and coincidences the same way. And you won’t go through another day without receiving a download from the Universe!


Your Higher Power

There is a Higher Power at play. Whether you consider it the Universe, God, Love, Spirit, etc; it really does not matter how you identify it in your life. Most of us are waiting around for signs from our Higher Power, and we sometimes become frustrated that we are not seeing anything! However, the problem is not a lack of communication. The problem is that we are missing the communication, and often it is right under our noses. We are always receiving communication from our Higher Power. We just have to look for it!

Where to Look

Let’s dig in. Here are 14 ways the Universe communicates with us. Keep in mind, each of these have varying degrees. Some may be big, obvious signs, but most of them will be subtle and integrated into everyday life— just quiet nudges.


1. Intuition 

One of the best ways to get downloads from the Universe is to look at your own inner nudges and experiences. When you just know what the next right step is, you are tuning in to your intuition. Building up your intuition will give you confidence as you go about your life.

2. Synchronicity

When something works out perfectly in your favor, or when things just seem to line up just right, you are experiencing synchronicity. This is not a random coincidence—it’s a sign. Don’t miss it!

3. Inspiration

Inspiration happens when something pops into your head out of nowhere. Perhaps the idea to call someone, to start a new project, or to go somewhere suddenly seems to come to mind. That thought has meaning, so don’t ignore it! Go with it and see where it leads you.

4. Desire

When you have a really strong want that you just cannot shake, keep in mind that it may be a download from the Universe. This could be as simple as the desire to go into a store or to buy a new couch. You never know where those actions will lead you, so trust that subtle nudge.

5. Coincidence

Some people would consider this to be “luck,” but I really believe that’s a misguided thought. When something works out at just the right time, or at just the right place, that is not random even if it seems like it! It is communication. Take it and go with it!

6. Other People

When someone says exactly what you need to hear, or when you overhear a conversation that provides the direction you are looking for, you may actually be hearing from your Higher Power. The Universe loves to use other peoples’ voices to chat with you.

7. Numbers

This one is my favorite because it happens to me almost every day. Some number combinations have specific meanings based in numerology, but sometimes their may be seemingly random number combinations that you happen to see on a regular basis. I see 11:11 or 1:11 nearly every single day, and I have for years. And my birthday is 1/11. This is so comforting to me because it reminds me that I’m on the right path and the Universe is letting me know through numbers.

8. Music

The universe can communicate through the songs we hear! You’ve probably had the experience of hearing a song that spoke to you or answered a question you have been asking. Well, now you know what is behind that! Next time you hear a song that seems to have extra meaning behind it, take that as a nod from the Universe.

9. Dreams

When our conscious mind takes a backseat and our subconscious mind takes over when we sleep, we can receive instructions, “downloads”, answers, or guidance from the Universe. Even if we don’t understand the instructions at the time, trust that it will all make sense exactly when it needs to.

10. Meditation

When you are in a place of presence and calm, your intuition is on fire! One of the best reasons to meditate regularly is that you will receive so many downloads while you are in that quieted state. Becoming present and connected will allow you to flow with the Universe in a whole new way. If you have ideas and inspiration during meditation, follow it!

11. Words

You may read or hear something that really stands out to you; even something as trivial as a message on a commercial or the heading of a newspaper article. If it stands out to you as meaningful, there is a reason, so absorb those words and let them lead you.

12. Objects and Symbols

If you always see a certain color, shape, animal, etc., there may be signs there for you. For years now, I have regularly seen butterflies in my day-to-day life. I see them as signs that remind me to relax and flow because all is well.

13. Timing

Most of us have experienced a situation where something has felt like bad timing, but later we find out that it was for the best. Perhaps you have missed a flight and later discovered that you actually missed a snowstorm. This is the Universe keeping you safe and well.

14. Physical Issues

If you have specific physical issues, keep in mind that there are spiritual and emotional aspects to those issues as well. For example, you may be holding onto weight because you feel mentally and emotionally weighed down. Or you may get a cold when you are in your busy season at work, forcing you to slow down and rest. These may be signs from the Universe, guiding you toward what you should do to care for yourself.

Presence and Awareness

The Universe certainly is not limited to this list. You may have all kinds of experiences unrelated to what is listed here, and that is so exciting! I would encourage you to record your experiences, see them for what they are, and put some faith into moving with them in the right direction. The only two requirements for communication with the Universe are presence and awareness. Slow down, stay focused on the now, find some space and stillness, and connect.

In today’s culture, it is easy to stay stuck on auto-pilot, which makes it difficult to really pay attention and notice our surroundings. So be open to receiving, and see what you start noticing. Create a sign for yourself. Tell the Universe what it is. Journal a quick note to the Universe about what sign you want and why. And then see how often you start seeing that sign in your life. You may be surprised. Have fun!

How your brain works with the law of attraction — Ep. 56

The Reticular Activating System, or your brain’s filtration system, sets out to filter into your conscious mind only that which corresponds with your focus. In other words, you attract into your experience what you focus on…which is just what the law of attractions states.

Out of Alignment? 8 Steps To Get Back To Your Flow

Getting into alignment — we talk about it a lot on the Unstuck Podcast. We know it’s an important piece of any mindset practice and a necessary component to attracting what we want in our lives. If we’re going to manifest to get what we most deeply want, we must be in alignment! But perhaps, despite your best efforts, your desires are still not coming to fruition. Most of us are still spending the majority of our time out of alignment which, of course, interrupts our flow.

So… are you in alignment or out of alignment?

What Is Alignment, Anyway? 

Alignment is incredibly important. Regardless of your level of awareness, if you are not in alignment, your desires cannot be manifested. But staying in alignment is a practice. It involves building habits and working toward the goal. 

So what is alignment? Take a look at these definitions, and choose the one that resonates with you right now. Then take that definition and try to really absorb it.

My 5 Definitions Of Alignment:

Being an energetic match to whatever it is you want. This is what raising your vibration is all about! This is what we mean by “like attracts like.” We’re looking to attract the vibrational energy of what we want through our emotions. By raising our vibration, we create a connection from the energy we’re putting out to what we want to receive.

When your thoughts, feelings, words, and actions are all aligned to one common goal. This definition begins with your beliefs and trickles down through every other part of your human expression. For example, if you have the goal of finding your perfect job, you can start by making sure you do not have any beliefs that contradict your goal. Then you can begin to work on believing that you are worthy, capable, and equipped for your dream job.

Getting out of your own way. Let go of the need to figure out the “how.” Stop trying to “effort things” into being. Work on the confidence or allowing what you want to come to you as you stay in alignment. Relax in the certainty of what is coming.

Entering a flow state where everything you want seems to happen naturally for you. This is what naturally happens when you are aligned! Things flow through you without effort or force because you have relaxed into the flow.

Your communication system with the universe. We connect with universal forces by way of emotion. By getting into alignment, we can let the universe know our desires.

How Do You Know If You’re Out Of Alignment?

Keep in mind that you can be in alignment in some areas of life, and out of alignment in other areas. This is normal! One way to know if you’re in alignment is to check for signs of being out of alignment.

Signs you’re out of alignment:

1. Your manifestations are not happening. You know what you want, but you aren’t seeing any signs of those desires coming to you. You aren’t seeing any signs from the universe that you are headed in the right direction.

2. You are being fueled by negative emotion. Sometimes we don’t even realize negativity is happening. Stress, auto-pilot mode, being disconnected instead of engaged… These are all low-vibe places, and they really deter alignment.

3. You let your situation dictate your mood. If frustrating events in your life impact your internal confidence and your emotions, you are not in alignment.

4. You are led by doing instead of feeling. If you are in auto-pilot mode and just going through the motions without feeling, you are disengaged.

5. You are not working toward a purpose, dream, or goal. We should constantly be in a state of expansion. If you are not constantly looking toward the horizon, then you are just ho-humming life, and you cannot be in alignment.

6. You are making decisions based on your ego chatter rather than your intuition. If you are not connected to your internal navigation system, then you will begin to look to outside sources to tell you what you should do. This will always lead you away from alignment.

7. You focus on what you do not want rather than focusing on what you expect to come to you. This negative headspace is not conducive to the high-vibe mindset needed for alignment.

8 ways to get back into alignment

Steps To Get Back Into Alignment

Remember… you have to start with your AWARENESS. You will always be fueled by your stories and beliefs, and they have the power to keep you out of alignment if they do not match up with your desires.

Here are eight things you can do:

1. Meditate. Bring stillness to your mind as often as you can, even if it’s only 30 seconds! Meditation gives your mind the opportunity to be uncrowded. And that stillness allows us to be more focused on alignment.

2. Visualize. Practice being so clear in what you want that you can feel it as you visualize it. Feel the comfort, excitement, peace, and freedom that your desire will bring!

3. Feel it first. Identify the feeling that you are expecting from your Big Ask (that “thing” you really want to happen for you), and find other ways to feel it right now. 

4. Raise your overall vibration. While you will not be in a constant state of high vibration, the higher the percentage of good in your life, the better! Focusing on love, joy, comfort, peace, kindness, confidence, etc, will allow you to feel good overall. Work to do this as often as you can to hone your alignment.

5. Choose your words wisely. We tend to speak to the negative. Complaining is the biggest way to know that you are out of alignment. Gossiping, comparing yourself to others, negative self-talk, and apathy are the enemies of alignment!

6. Let go. Find a sense of detachment from the need for something to happen. When we get to a place of peace, regardless of the outcome, we will understand that what we’re doing here is all part of the journey to get to what we want. Enjoy that journey!

7. Practice the pivot. When you have a bad feeling or thought, pivot to find something that feels really good and focus on that. Thinking about something that feels really good will get you out of the negative spiral and back into alignment.

8. Take care of your physical self. Your vibration is impacted by your physical body! Enjoy healthy movement and eat in a way that feels good to you mentally, physically, and emotionally. Spend tons of time on self-care. The satisfaction that can come from that will raise your vibration and push you toward alignment.

Your Alignment Homework

Alright, time for a little homework:

Step 1: Sit down with your journal and make a “Happy List.” Write down at least 50 things that make you happy – little and big. Things that you make you feel really good. Then you can come back to this list when you need some help getting into alignment.

Step 2: For a whole week, spend some time before bed asking yourself “how much time did I spend in alignment today?” Be honest! How much time did you feel noticeably good? How much time were you out of auto-pilot? And now that you’re aware of this, put some of these tips into practice and see if this amount changes.

Remember that this is forever stuff! These tips are part of my everyday practice. Keep going and enjoy the journey. This work is both meaningful and fun!

You have a problem, you want a solution. And you want to make sure you’re using your intuition to make that decision so you know it’s the right one. A solution pops into our head that *seems* like a good one. But, is it truly coming from your intuition, or is it just the ego dressed up as “knowing”?

Q: “I just found out I’ve been using my excess weight as a security blanket. Now, I *think* my intuition is telling me what to do about it, but how do I know for sure?”

In this episode, we’re looking at how to know, without a doubt, that you’re following your intuition and not your ego or fear-based voice. Plus, we’ll look deeper at this listener’s situation of realizing her weight has been her security blanket her whole life and now being afraid to lose it.

Is your approach to life backwards? — Ep. 29

Are you someone who waits until you “have” a certain thing so that you can finally “do” something important, which will then allow you to “be” who you want to be? For instance, “Once I lose weight, then I will buy new clothes, and feel confident.” 

Or, do you have the mindset that the more you “do,” the more you’ll “have,” and the happier you’ll “be”? For example, “The more I work, the more money I’ll make, the more successful I’ll be.”

Both of these, although quite popular approaches, are just setting us up for continued stuckness! In order to create external change, we need to start with our inner selves. Which happens by first BEING who we want to be.

Listener Q&A: “How do I feel the vibration of a different body size before I have it?” — Ep. 26

According to the law of attraction, we get what we focus on because vibrational energy attracts like frequencies. By moving ourselves into a similar vibration to that which we want, we can draw our deepest desires into our existence. So then, it would seem that if we want to change our bodies, all we have to do is act as if we already have that leaner body. 

But, this approach is flawed and will actually work against you, keeping you stuck! And yet, this is what most women do when they attempt to use the law of attraction to lose weight.
